Satamosaari
· Suur-Saimaa · Sarastus · 16 MThe sailing season seemed to be over, so I had packed the boat with gear for the winter. Then came the last weekend of September. The air temperature on land was forecasted to be around 20 degrees. The surface water temperature was well above 12.5 ° C, which I consider to be the limit for sailing without dry or wet suits. The wind would be 8-11 knots according to the forecast. And as there was no other commitments, unlike at the second half of August, it was obvious that we would head for the water!

Replacing furling genoa separator disc
· SarastusDue to a human error, I managed to break the separator disc at the top of the furling genoa when we were rigging the boat for one of our sailing trips. The disc keeps genoa and forestay separated from each other. I contacted Aero Luff Spars and described the issue. Ralph Roberts kindly shipped me a spare part and even included a hex head wrench needed to complete the job. It took me just about five minutes to replace the broken part.

· Suur-Saimaa · Sarastus · 17 MThe exceptional heat of June was about to end, that made us to want have another sailing trip to Saimaa where it would be nicer to swim than in the sea. Ulko-Tammio
· The Gulf of Finland · Sarastus · 27 MDuring the Midsummer the warm weather brought many boaters to the coasts, that also caused 176 emergency situations for the Finnish search and rescue service, breaking their record. We spent the Midsummer on land but decided to have a sailing trip soon after it. As the waters were warm and the breeze gentle, after a short discussion we chose to sail to a bit more distant destination in the Gulf of Finland National Park. The chosen destination was Ulko-Tammio island which is one of the remotest big islands in the territorial waters of the southeastern Finland.
